He has been a faculty at Carlos Albizu University and Florida International University, teaching diverse education and cross-cultural communication classes.

Mr. Pineda is an analytical observer of the Cuban culture and is currently working on two articles for his his doctorate program: a Cuban Reader for Americans – an analysis of US and Cuban media treatment of Cuban and American issues; and Over the Bridge: Cuba and the USA – a discussion of (mis)conceptions, (mis)representations, and culture shock on both sides of the Florida Straits.
